The story: Absinthe is one of those drinks that brings people together, bonds them through the "absinthe" experience. Test it! Mention drinking absinthe in a group and watch out for smiles (or frowns). It would be like "I know what you did when you had absinthe" kind of reaction. We all know the "green poison" can get you into trouble, but hey, that's the fun part, right?


Absinthe is not for the lighthearted. Highly alcoholic (ranging from 53 to 89%), it was called the "green fairy" during the 1800s by the literary crowd, who claimed that absinthe was like a perfect combo between alcohol and coffee: "I felt the alcohol wave rolling through me, but instead of drowning, I was somehow above it, coolly observing."
