BELLINI

 

The story: Bellini was invented in Venice, Italy in the 40s ans was a favourite with Ernt Hemingway. It was from here, Harry's Bar, that the pink drink was taken to the US. The name Bellini was given by the founder of Harry's Bar, who said that the pink colour looks like the colour of a toga of a saint from a painting by Giovanni Bellini.
The main ingredients: pureed peach and Prosecco. Prosecco is an Italian sparkling wine, produced mainly in Veneto and Treviso.  Attention: sparkling wine is not the same as champagne! Only the sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region, in France, through a double fermentation process (second one in the bottle to create the carbonation). Only the sparkling wine coming from this region is allowed to be called champagne.
